If the price of the item is higher than the brand card amount, you can still use your brand card and pay the remaining balance via card, cash, or UPI at the merchant during checkout. If the price of the item is lower than the brand card amount, the balance amount post-purchase will remain in your brand card for it to be used later whenever you have the need to make another purchase.
